Description

There are really easy to make, I learned how to make this style of underwear at a lingerie workshop at the wonderful www.homemadelondon.com – they are a beautiful craft salon in London and the primary reason I started sewing again.

If you’ve got bits of lightweight fabric lying around, knickers are a great way to use it up. I bought this fabric specially as with the black elastic and ribbon, it gives a sexy victorian feel.

I’m making lots of my friends a pair of these with individual decorations on each pair.

Material Notes

Lightweight cotton, pretty elastic, ribbon

I think because someone showed me how to do it, it’s easy. You just have to go slow on the fiddly bits.

I do it by double folding the edge (the hem I suppose), then using a zigzag stitch sew the elastic on to the hem pulling it about 70% taut. So you hem it and get the elastic on all in one go.
