Ann Arbor, Michi...
I got just what I wanted for Mother’s Day: enough uninterrupted project time to sew this jacket (number 126 from Burda magazine 7/2009). I made a few alterations and am so pleased with the results! I used the ruffled looking selvege instead of hemming the edges, then used a scarf hem on the sides. I also added a 4 cm ruffle to the back. The jacket originally hung down to my calves, way too long for me. I shortened it by ~35 cm on each side. This design is so comfortable and looks equally great with dresses or jeans. I definitely recommend it!
Very lightweight blue knit, a souvenir purchased for $2/yd at LZ Procucts/Textile Discount Outlet (http://www.megafabrics.com). This is a must visit store if you are in Chicago!
