I was given this fabric and there was a lot of it, so I thought, why not make myself a dress…and wow there was still enough to make one for my daughter too. If you look at my earlier projects I made her a doll dress with it as well, and I don’t have this posted but I also made an apron. And there’s still more fabric but I’m out of ideas really.

My grandmother used to do this for herself and my mom. I love it! Your daughter will treasure these moments when she is old enough. I know someone else already said this, but I’m willng to take that goreous fabric off your hands as well! What a great project – nicely done :)

Nice dresses! Your dress fits so good! You could make presents for baby’s with the fabric, or for your daughters friends. I allways make some little dresses in advance so I can give them when a girl is born.

I don’t mean to be rude but if you have too much fabric, just send me a little because it’s sooo beautiful! ;) Seriously: both dresses are perfect, wonderfully made!! Conratulations.

Very cute dresses! If you have enough fabric, you could make Easter dresses for your daughter for the next few years!

Thanks to you all for your nice comments and good ideas :). Actually I could do a summer hat for my daughter because there was one on the pattern I made her dress from, so maybe that’s what I’ll do. The pattern I used for my dress is Simplicity 3877, and for my daughter is 5695.

I love the dresses. Maybe you could make a hat for your daughter with some of the remaining fabric.

Both dresses are gorgeous and your little girl is very cute. I want to make matching dresses for me and my daughter now.

Nice work! Did you use a pattern? A skirt would be pretty but some summer/spring short shorts would work well with the remaining fabric.

very nicely done. You can use the remainly fabric for a casual tote bag; why not mix it with another coordinating fabric to make a patch work style bag. Just thought I’d put in my 2 cents worth :D
