Dolce and Gabbana were inspired by the golden mosaics of Sicily’s Cathedral of Monreale and Byzantine art for their Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection. I was deeply impressed and remained speechless when I saw the traditional mosaic prints with the faces of saints appearing on everything from dresses and bags to shoes. The pattern is a jersey top from Burdastyle, the only alteration was to widen the neckline. The dress is lined with beautiful red Bemberg lining. I used fliseline to prevent neckline and armholes from stretching. More photos on my blog
