This is my version of the bag from the BurdaStyle Sewing Handbook, named for this cross stich picture of the Montmartre area of Paris that I have that it matches.
My changes to the pattern were pleats at the bottom of the front and back because the fabric was too thick to gather and I used a coordinating tasseled cord I had as a drawstring and eliminated the elastic in the opening.
This was essentially a stashbuster project as I felt like making a bag and I have a whole bunch of fabric and notions that were given to me by my best friend’s grandma who was cleaning out her craft closet, so I paid a grand total of $0 on the materials for this. I’ll probably make a bunch more for people for Christmas to clear out some more of my stash.
This was made of mystery fabric. I have no clue what the fiber content is.
