Parents love a gift that was made by their child. An easy beginning embroidery project is to make a monogrammed handkerchief for dad. Girls in grades 4 and up are ready to learn a simple outline stitch.
Men’s Handkerchiefs can be purchased at many local stores such as Target or Wal-Mart, but if this is a group project, and you want to save a little money, you can make them yourself.
A handkerchief is just a square of thin woven fabric that has a rolled hem on all four sides. You can purchase remnants of fabric, or buy a flat sheet and cut it up. Men’s dress shirts can be recycled, too. One extra-large shirt will make about six hankies.
30 select jacket and coat patterns are now marked down to $3.99.
