Monocrome Mila

Norwich, United ...

Great pattern, but bad fabric choice on my part. I opted for a slippery cheap-ish synthetic dupion, which had a mind of it’s own. I stuck with it though, and it worked out OK I think. I love the shape generally, but I did have to shorten the straps quite a lot. I found that the hook & loops didn’t hold the front together that well either, they made it bulge at the bust.
Might give it another go with some different fabric though.

Material Notes

B&W spotty poplin, and nasty wriggly poly-dupion.

Great job, I’m halfway through sewing my Mila – hope it turns out as super as yours!

I have that dress half way sewn in my attic since I don’t remember when….. I think I’ll give it a go, once again, as yours came up so nice.

It looks really good! I have also sewn with that slippery fabric before – such a mission!
