Description

Was stuck for something to do this evening so i raided the stash and found a bit of left over stretch satin which was enough to make this…just a shaped tube dress with elastic in the top
The question is…is it wearable? I would like to wear a dress like this out in the evening but i think it might be a tad too ‘homemade’ as it does go baggy at the back and gets winkles when i walk…hmmm.

Material Notes

stretch satin

Homemade is awesome, says the selfish sewer herself…me ;) A simple belt or sash could do some wrinkle control either at the waist, the empire, or low waist maybe. I don’t think it’s too baggy as is, drapey looks are in!

As you say it’s stretch, you should be able to improve the fit quite easily by shaping the side seams. Apart from that, to make it fancier, you can think of some lace, bow, ruffles, flowers, buttons…Anything really!

Could do some darts in the back if you wanted, but I think it looks fab!

Nobody will know it’s home-made. People just don’t even guess that … unless they know you. (Some of my friends are onto my little sewing addiction.)
