So I’m adding all these projects that are wedding related – and they all happened the last couple weeks of October this year, so it’s all very recent work of mine. This project was a custom design for my mom to wear at my brother’s wedding in Chicago. She sent me some patterns and pictures of dresses she liked, so I based the design off of the general idea I was getting – boatneck, sleeves, a little past the knee, sort of a 50’s silhouette. She also wanted a jacket, and I made one using the BudaStyle Stella jacket as inspiration!
Dress is 100%cotton print w/ zipper and interfacing, jacket is wool outer, poly lining inner, silver button and gray cording, interfacing.

oh man! how much that makes me wish I could draft :) Creating something this stylish from scratch must just be so satisfying….
…..have to say I was kinda hoping you’d altered Stella some how as was ready to move this way up the to do list :)
still maybe there is a drafting class in my future.

oh, oh, oh this is lovely!!!!! but it’s a lot shorter than Stella….so my question is did you use the Stella pattern and shorten it somehow, or did you draft this?? Lucky mum!!!!!

I drafted the pattern myself, but got the idea for the silhouette/seamlines from the Stella jacket. thanks so much for the compliments!!!
