The lovely Moira, looking resplendent in the green changeable silk chiffon wedding gown that she and I designed together. The top layer is changeable green silk chiffon from B&J Fabrics, ruched at the shoulders and tacked into pleats at center front, and then released into a full-circle skirt. The middle layer is lime green charmeuse from C&J, and it is fully lined in lime green china silk.
I used silk thread to tack the center front pleats in place so that it wouldn’t bite into the fragile chiffon.
I made the pattern by draping directly on her. It was a long process, and the final dress looks nothing like what she came to me with when she first contacted me, but I think it came out splendidly.

it’s beautiful. it reminds me very much of a dress of my grandmother’s that my cousins and I would fight over when playing dress-up with her clothes that no longer fit but were too precious to throw away.
