I so love the back of this vintage dress, but the recommended fabric was a no no for me. I am not a fan of velvet so I decided to use knits and give the dress a try. This lovely dress features a draped back and shoulder ribbon ties. I use two different type of fabric and contrast each other.
I also change the style of the skirt by using my own draft pattern were I added a metal zipper at the back to give it a modern look. The skirt have four pleats at the front and darts at the back. I didn’t want the top to attached to the skirt at the waistline so it is placed 2 1/2 ins above the natural waistline.
Desperate to bring the dress to completion it took me 7 hours to make. I wore it to my co-worker daughter funeral.
To me the dress turned out great and I feel and look great in it.
