I made this Weekender Bag for my sister for Christmas. She pretty much only wears black, grey or white paired with jeans, so I tried to keep the colours pretty simple. Its made from black cotton canvas, with black upholstery vinyl. Having attempted this pattern before and realizing it wasn’t exactly as I wanted it, I adjusted the pattern such that the straps would be longer and the black vinyl would cover the bottom and be seen from the sides as well. I think it turned out great. I lined it in a beige/almost gold polyester. There are two pockets on the front and back, with heavy duty snaps, as well as one inside. She’s currently being certified as a yoga instructor, so I thought this would be a great bag for her to take with her to classes. She could have her yoga clothes, mat and towels as well as books and whatever else she needs.
