Mom gave me the Famous Frocks book for Christmas and I made the Twiggy Dress. I learned a number of things while making this dress, such as the importance of using interfacing that is the correct weight for the fabric.
It is super comfortable. I wanted green buttons, but couldn’t find any the right color green. I can switch them out later.

Thanks so much for your help skeeler! I was trying to sew it on upside down! Felt so stupid when I worked it out! Mine is just red linen, but I might try it with some more adventurous patterns after seeing yours. It looks great!

Your dress looks great. I am using this pattern at the moment and I was wondering if you had trouble with the neckband? It is too short for the neck line of my dress and I cant figure out where I went wrong. I have checked back and I have cut and interfaced everything right…… Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

The neckband was super challenging for me too. I practiced with a muslin one first. I didn’t have problems with its size, but the layout was backwards on the fabric cutting, so I had to cut a new one. Also, I had to hand baste it on the dress before I sewed it because it was a really tight fit. You might try that. Good luck! I look forward to seeing your dress!

Your dress is wonderful and really reminds me of the dresses I use to make when Twiggy was my idol. A little ‘Mary Quant’ make-up and off you go!!! Well done.

Thanks Schnui – Perhaps some false eyelashes? :-)
