I loved this pattern as soon as I saw it – but maybe I watch too much Mad Men! It is Butterick 4702 from 1968. It was the white version on the pattern I fell for – the yellow version looks kind of like Lego, don’t you think?!
Made up in a very fine wool (not the easiest to work with – serges like a dream but isn’t keen on the sewing machine so the zip went in on attempt number 2!). The wool is a fabulous brick red colour and hard to photograph (apologies for the quality). UPDATE – grabbed a new photo today which shows the colour much better.
I found the buttons on eBay – original 60s and nice and big – whoop!
The hem is turned with lace – a necessity due to the fabric being so fine.

Thanks Janene! :) Those lovely buttons are from Betty’s Buttons on eBay – and she sends them on a gorgeous vintage style card too! Well worth checking out her sales. (She’s a UK seller)

Thanks so much. And I agree about Mad Men! I don’t have Sky so I have to wait for the DVDs – I put them on while I sew – I think they inspire me, ha ha!
