Wanted a cute, easy, boxy tee that would be easy to dress up or down, and is comfortable. Loved the shape of the tee, and made my own pattern based on the Tami Tee shape and design with my pattern blocks. There is a dart on one side, and the other dart was made by omitting the fabric space where it would have been, and cut the pieces around the dart shape, then attaching. I also added cuffs to the cap sleeves (wrong side of tee with the cuff piece, a rectangle folded in half, stitched, and folded up) as well as a band to the bottom (same process as cuff, but right side of shirt matched with folded band edge, raw edges together, and then topstitched).
Cotton/Poly blend bought at a thrift store (as most of my fabric has been… I’m a poor student, and even making my own clothes is even too spendy with new fabric).

Don’t mind idea-borrowing one bit! I kinda borrowed the original idea anyway. Wish I had better instructions, but I literally just drew the pattern on newsprint in the basic shape that she had, then cut it up into the shapes. Some angles are harder to piece together than others, but constant pressing helps, and the stripes make it SUUUUPER easy to cut on grain :) I made the sleeves/shoulders too tight originally so I cut a black/tan/black strip out, and put them between the shoulder seams, and it ended up adding to the pattern and looking adorable. Had to add a couple back darts to tone down the boxiness, but all in all I like the fit. I’ll try to figure out a pattern to put online :) That’ll be a first!

Instant love. I hope you don’t mind me stealing this idea at some point.
