I made this dress for the Tessuti Awards 2012.
The brief was spots and stripes and be inspired by this playful theme and create a dress suitable for daywear that incorporates spots, stripes or a combination of both.
I was influenced by the feel of the fabric which is very light and flowy. I used the brief to make a dress for the Spring racing. I am definitely inspired by Anna Sui.
This dress had to have a scarf tie around the neck as the fabric feels like one big scarf. I added some sequins to the waistband to give it a bit of glitter for the race day sunshine. I also wanted the hem to look scarf like so decided that it had to be a hankerchief hem.
