At some point in life, you realize that all of your friends are getting married,
In my life, that point is now, and I have had the pleasure of being invited to many weddings.
The only problem in this otherwise joyous occasion of course, is the dress.
A cocktail dress (that I want) usually runs in the $300 range.
I would wear the same dress many times, if only the same people were not attending those weddings.
So what’s a girl to do?
4 more yards of mirror dot fabric and one Cynthia Rowley cocktail dress pattern later, Voila.
Total project cost about $50. Which is, of course, better than $300.
4 Yards of woven fabric with body.

The dress is absolutely gorgeous! I would love to match it with a golden trench coat and shiny pumps.
You will definitely look great.

I like the way the ruffle is graduated around the neckline. Are the edges serged?

The pattern called for the ruffles being baby hemmed.
Burda has a good tutorial for that:http://www.burdastyle.com/techniques/baby-hem
