Step 3 Decorate the shirring by machine
Sew a decorative stitch across the shirred fabric with embroidery thread, in between the gathered lines. Take out the gathered lines. Tie all thread ends on the back of the fabric, or apply fray stop lotion. Tip: Use different shades of thread from the same color on each line, you can choose any decorative stitch, the honeycomb works great. Before getting started you can do a test square see how you like it.
