I’ve really liked the recent trend for big parka’s with big furry hoods. So much so, that I thought I would make one myself! I chose the Minoru pattern by Sewaholic as I thought it would be a good basic, and the elastic at the waist should help give some definition!
The fabric I bought was sightly browner than I wanted (it’s greener in real life than it is in the photos) but overall I think it gives a good parka look! I’m so proud of the hood, I added a lining which then allowed me to add in the fur trim. It;s so big and cosy! I also lined the jacket with a really warm, and crazy patterned, brushed cotton. It so warm to wear! Almost to warm now… especially since it’s officially become spring in Britain!
I’m really proud with the finished result, and I can’t quite believe i made a coat! My first! More info on my blog
