Bear, Delaware, ...
Pardon the cheesy title. One of my friends had decided she wanted to have a costume party for New Year’s Eve with a historical figure theme, so I altered the Minna to turn it into a Cleopatra dress. (Unfortunately, the party ended up becoming non-costume kind of last minute, so I don’t have any pictures of me wearing it. :-( ) Anyway, for the dress, I lengthened it to ankle-length with slits on both side seams, raised the neckline to the height of the largest size, and replaced the trim with two layers of fabric to add more coverage and enclose the seam. The belt is recycled from a thrifted pair of gold spandex leggings and scraps of some previous costumes for the stripes, and the necklace was made using all beads I had on hand. If I ever do get a chance to wear the entire ensemble, I’ll add an action shot.
some kind of polyester matte satin-type stuff, fully underlined with lining fabric (both on hand). Gold spandex, blue satin, red silky stuff, cream brocade-ish stuff. Beads, hooks & eyes, invisible zipper.
Leopard and snakeskin are the new neutrals.
