I used a Lynn McMasters Wellington hat pattern and scaled it down. I used black double/ theatrical buckram with a black lace overlay. This has been the most versatile hat I have ever owned, it has been reimagined a few different times and still looks smashing. Currently it has a black satin ribbon and ostrich feather trim. The only bad thing about the hat is that if you took one of those wands that they use on CSI to it, the entire inside would glow! I lost so much blood to this hat – even with a thimble. Now that my hands are entirely healed I might even start another!
Black Double / theatrical buckram, black lace, 19 gauge millinery wire, black bias tape
