Corset inspired by Rio de Janeiro artist Beatriz Milhazes. I drafted the pattern in a draping class in Brazil and designed the pieces to reflect Milhazes use of contrasts: cuves and straight lines, bright and dark hues, reflective and opaque fabrics. Her work takes inspiration from Carnaval, modernism, the movimento Tropicalista, and artists like Henri Matisse.
So many amazing fabrics to buy downtown Rio!!! Hard to choose! This corset has 22 pieces and is lined in bright pink cotton with facing and boning.

Wow is right! The fit is perfect and the design is wonderful. I would never guess it was anything less than professionally made.

thanks! It took a bit of time to make the pattern pieces, but besides that it went by pretty quickly! I had a deadline of 1 week after I had finished the pieces and finished in about 3 days.
