Description
I have a wedding coming up this summer, and I wanted a cute little dress to wear! I had this green lightweight denim kicking around and I wanted that incorporated in my dress…so when I discovered I had leftover matching black and green spandex I knew I had something special!
The pleats in this Lace Waist Dress looked really good and pronounced in the denim, and then the pleats in the bodice were softer and more draped. I loved the contrast! It was a little tricky sewing these two very different fabrics together at the waist seam, but with patience and pins I did it.
I decided not to extend the zipper to the armhole, so instead I stopped the zipper at the skirt waist line and had the bodice side seam have a slit that was secured by one snap.
This project was my May Mash Up, check out the article and my sewing process here
