Description
For the month of November we had a prolific BurdaStyle member, Anajan, interning with us. Ana got a special glimpse into BurdaStyle last month seeing that we celebrated our book launch party, and in turn, we had the opportunity to see Ana at work! Case in point: Ana took our basic Peter Pan collar dress and turned it into a dress suit for a siren from the sea—or a cool lady who deserves a great dress which has enough integrity and complexity to wow a mathematician.
Ana has 135 projects and has shared 8 patterns (who can say that?) with us. Go Ana!

Hi shoshana13, hmm… it’s neither of the two :). Actually, I have no idea what that is (nor where you see it), something must have reflected in the window… Though, it would have been cool to have a bike in the scenography.
Thanks for the comment!
Oh, now I get it! Yes, I have a spinning wheel in my house and it’s been a part of scenography on many of my photos. That wheel used to be my grand grand mother’s and my dad rescued it from those tiny worms that eat wood (I don’t know the name in English). Eventually he turned the spinning wheel into a lamp, so it’s actually a functional part of our living room.

I wanted to know what you were on about, just nosey I guess, so went to look again at the garments you mentioned. It is a spinning wheel you see in the background of many shots. :-)

In fact, it is much easier than it looks! It requires some neat sewing and it IS time consuming, but it’s just a repetitive work (can be boring :)). Thanks for commenting!

It took me 2 days to sew the pleats on the front panel. The rest of the process went much faster. I did spend some time solving the fitting issues, since I didn’t make the muslin first. All in all I think I worked 5 days on it, but somehow the work spread through the 3 weeks of my internship at BurdaStyle.
