Description

here is the colette patterns meringue skirt, the first project from their new book. i love the classic shape and cute hem detail. i wasn’t a huge fan of the scallops in the beginning but it’s grown on me so much i’m dying to make another in a more spring/summer fabric! this one is a definite winner.

i made it in a medium weight wool and added a full lining and top stitched the scallops instead of using the hem facing. i added belt loops and also swapped out the regular waist facing and used wide elastic as facing instead. for more details on how i made these changes, check it out on my blog, notes from a mad housewife.

thanks! i figured the yellow tights would show off the scallops better than my winter white legs would… haha!
