I made this shirt using Vogue’s latest men’s shirt pattern, V8889. I had to make a few alterations to the pattern, primarily narrowing the shoulders as it’s designed for a more broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted man, along with shortening the length a few inches (I’m 5’7").
The pattern has some nice details, including front and back shaped seams (see pics) and a hidden button placket.
You can read more about the making of this shirt on my blog, Male Pattern Boldness:

I used a very lightweight white cotton shirting for the shirt itself, and a floral patterned cotton remnant for the inside of the collar stand to add a bit of interest.

Beautiful work Peter :) love all the details, particularly the hidden button placket. Always good to see the work behind the scenes with the muslin and your tireless attention to fit – I’ve been going slightly crazy with alterations getting the fitting right on a McCalls shirt pattern and finally got it right on version 5 – now I have to perfect the short sleeve version !
