This is a cotton knit jumpsuit I made from Butterick 6681, a vintage mens pattern from the Seventies. I used a striped fabric even though the pattern says not suitable for stripes: I like a challenge!
It has raglan sleeves and an invisible zipper up the front. It’s very comfy and toasty, actually! It’s a Valentines Day gift for my partner, Michael.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this….it’s awesome for a “throw something on and still rock” sort of day! I really love that you made the legs a tad bit longer than what was in fashion at the time of the pattern.

In a knit jersey like this, I think of it more for lounging at home. But in a stiffer fabric, or done with full-length pants (the other version on the pattern), it could be worn out, I think. If you’re brave!

If you can find the pattern, you should give it a try. It shows up from time-to-time on Etsy and eBay.

Hi David . I love your blog :), How good are 70,s jumpsuits? Good on you for smashing the sewing stereotype, that its a girly mama craft .. I envy your flat cheast for the jumpsuit.. As a DD they rarely look any good on me, dang it!! And the stripes rock!

Cool jumpsiut, your matching of the stripes is well done as so tricky using a knit fabric, keep up the great sewing
