Description

This is a swimsuit I made from McCall’s 8026, a vintage 1984 pattern. It’s simple to make — just two pattern pieces! I serged the edges, rolled them under and topstitched, adding elastic to the waist but not to the legs; they weren’t needed. Very comfy and fits nicely.

Material Notes

I used a very sturdy stretch poly knit — not flimsy at all. Very much like the fabric swimsuits were made from long ago. Thick too.

    dear peter! very nice fitting! and i admire, that you dare using elastic materials and do these kind of patterns………….. the result is not vintage at all. i think that these pants look very modern! WELL DONE!

    Peter, you’ve gotta model the men’s clothes outside the same way you do the women’s. Lol! I love the pattern and the fit looks great too. :-)

    Very nice. Love the fabric. We call this type of swim suit -“budgie smugglers”.
