Description

I made this cute little dress from a men’s long-sleeved dress shirt. I used a very fitted Simplicity dress pattern (forgot the number) because the shirt was a men’s size medium. I made a ton of fabric covered buttuns and used the shirt cuffs to make the ruffles on the front. I think I literally used every piece of fabric from the shirt! I left the original bottom of the shirt as the hem of the dress because I was worried it would be too short since I am 5’11’’ but I actually think it looks cute like that now.

Material Notes

tiny brown and white pin-striped men’s long-sleeved shirt, white cotton lining, fabric cover-able buttons

Intermediate

That is an amazing idea. I think I’m going op shopping now for one of those shirts! Thanks! It looks really amazing! I was surprised to see that ruffle you did on the front because just recently I made one just like that, for my dress but I didnt end up putting it on. I know what you mean about using up every scrap of fabric! I do that lots with revamps!

I think I see how you have done it now. You added the extra length at the bust with a seperate section kinda thing. I never saw the back before, but it looks really cool!

This is adorable! Would you consider posting a how-to? Also, did you line it with something to make it less sheer?

Wow, this is so cool. The ruffles are awesome. I think u did a super job in remaking a man’s shirt. I have a couple of them that are waiting to be redone. I may have to get to it sooner than later.
