I’m doing a little catch up on projects I never took photos of, I have been so slack lately :)
This is the dress and fascinator I made for Melbourne Cup 2010. The girls at work decided we would make a day of it (even though we only get lunch in the boardroom to watch the race and then go straight back to work). We had a fascinator competition and I went a bit mental and decided I needed a matching dress as well :)
The fabric was a bit of a nightmare with the print horribly off-grain so I had to throw out the cutting layout and find the best placement to keep the print lined up but I’m glad I stuck with it, I love the colour.
The pattern is from Patrones 289, Dress #10 and if you’d like to see how I made it without English instructions I have further information on my blog here

How fun! Would also be a great dress for going out on the town I imagine- leaves just enough to the imagination ;)
