Megan Dress for Date Night

Added May 23, 2014

by Karen Jackson

Bedfordshire, Un...

Cute dress from the book Love at First Sttich by Tilly Walnes.
Features a 22" invisible zip, neckline facing, darts and dart tucks.
I made the bodice in a size 4 and sized the skirt down to a 3. I also shortened the skirt by 3"
Had some help with the cutting out process from my daughter!
The fit is very nice and there is enough ease to cope with the largest dinner.
Instructions are thorough with lots of photos.
Tilly recommends pouring yourself a martini when you have completed it. I had a G&T. Does that count as a pattern hack?

Material Notes

Thread, 22" invisible zip.

Spring, Summer
Garment Type
Classic, Romantic, Vintage
Cotton, Blends, Knits/Jersey, Linen, Polyester, Rayon, Shirting

She is pretty good. My son is 7 and made a toy out of felt and cotton wool today. He did some hand sewing and had a go on the sewing machine too. His seams were pretty straight!
