This dress was fun to make and even more fun to sell! As a vendor at the annual Medieval Festival (at Ft. Tryon Park in Manhattan) for almost 20 years I’ve made & sold cloth dolls, felt hats, velvet draw string bags & such. This is my first time making a dress & the lady who bought it was a happy customer.
I used McCalls 5499 in size medium. It’s made from a slipcover weight damask. The 22 grommets were a kick to hammer in (and why did it do it at 11:00pm?). I’m pumped to make another — maybe one for myself. (My costume is a repurposed forest green velvet bridesmaid dress.)
