Blimey was this a tricky fella to sew! I couldn’t for the life of me fathom how to do the shoulder seams! I fudged something together and it looked all right in the end, but I’m quite sure its not exactly as it should be (any advice greatfully accepted). I found it quite tight fitting around the waist (which is weird as I usually find these things tighter a littler higher up if you know what I mean) and if I were making it again I’d make the back ties a little longer (or maybe I’m just tying it wrong!?). Its unlined, so needs to be worn with a slip (tres retro).
If I were making it for general wear I’d probably shorten the skirt and lengthen the sleeves. It would suit fabrics with a bit more drape I think, the poly cotton I used had a bit too much body to it to give it much ‘swing’!
Pattern was from sense and sensibilty patterns, reasonably priced and downloadable! Thumbs up!
Cheapo poly-cotton, shoulder pads which I'm pretty sure are from the actual 80s (stolen from mum's sewing cabinet... if she hadn't used them by now I think they are fair game)

You rock that frock!
Shoulder pads are glorious, thank you for using them. It’s a perfectly balanced silhouette; great job.
