Description
I wanted to make another pair of jeans and a top to go with it. The jeans were made based on McCalls 6610 pattern. And the top was Burdastyle’s 7/2012 #108 pattern. Again, I wanted to use up old lace leftover fabric and this top was just enough for what I had left.

Wow!! These jeans fits you like a glove. I have to buy this pattern and try to sew my own jeans because I can’t find jeans that fits me.

Thank you Pam. The only modification I did was around the legs and the length because it had kind of a “mom” fit despite the pattern’s photo. I wish you success. Finding jeans that fit can be a pain in the butt.

Wow! I have never seen a selfmade jeans that fits so good as yours. Did you change a lot at the pattern? Nice top too.

Thank you! I changed the way the jeans fit right where the hips end and the top of the thighs began. At first the leg was so wide. So I altered the pattern to be more of a skinny fit. Once you make your own jeans, it’s like you never want to buy another pair again.

I love making jeans. It’s not that difficult and this pattern is particularly good. I cut a size 8 for the hip area to be comfortable but took it in quite a bit around the thighs and rest of the leg. But that’s the best part, you can customize jeans until you are satisfied with the cut and length. I just recommend basting your seams until you are happy with the result. Good luck!

this looks great! I aways thought jeans would be hard to fit but you make it look possible. Love the top too.

Thank you! This pattern is incredibly easy and once you make your own jeans it can be hard to stop. I recommend a denim that is light weight for your first pair and that it has a bit of stretch to it. Heavier denim in the beginning can be daunting. Good luck!
