Maternity Tank and Pencil Skirt

Added Jul 12, 2013

Albuquerque, New...

I made this outfit using two patterns from Megan Neilsen’s maternity line: the Ruched T-shirt, and Ruched Skirt patterns. I left off the sleeves for a tank style on top. For the skirt, I lengthened the pattern by about 4 inches to give it a more dramatic pencil shape. I really like how this came out. I feel like one hot, pregnant mama!

Material Notes

The top is made from a black rayon jersey. The skirt is a gray double knit.

Hi there! How cool that you decided to make your own maternity outfit. I wish I’d known how to use a sewing machine when I was pregnant so I could bring my own style to that journey. The ruching is a nice touch.

Thank you! Sewing maternity clothes is a lot better than buying clothes at the store that all look the same!
