I have always been drawn to the sexy silhouette a bustier will give but often disappointed in commercial patterns on the market. I finally came up with an easy flattering pattern and technique to achieve this. Strapless or with cute bra straps, circle skirt, short, long, so many dresses can be created from this foundation. This is my first dress with the pattern. It only took me about two hours to complete and about 1.5 yards of fabric. The fabric is a micro houndstooth of wool and lycra.
1.5 yards of fabric, 1.5 yards lining, invisible zipper, boning

Beautiful dress. I’d be very curious about a drafting/construction tutorial. Also, I’d love to see how this dress looks on the inside. Did you use underwires on the cups?

It took you only 2 hours to finish that? Within two hours I would probably not have finished with the cutting of the fabric! Thumbs up. Great dress.

Yup, I feel exactly the same way as you. Drawn to the silhouette, bitterly disappointed by the offerings available. This certainly looks the part. Supportive too!
