The is my first coat, and it served as a big learning project for me! I’m very happy with the finished product! It is nice and warm, and I love the feminine style. The pattern is Vogue 8626, version C shortened to the length of A.

Ooooh, love this! If I may ask, what kind of interfacing did you use? I’m about to get started on a coat, but I don’t know if I will get the desired effect with the interfacing I have chosen and yours has just the amount of stiffness I imagined.

I used the only interfacing my local store sold which was Heat’nBond fusible interfacing for heavy weight fabric. I don’t think this interfacing was the most suitable for a coat, to be honest. Getting good supplies was difficult, which is why I ordered the fabric from online!

It looks fantastic! Did you draft the collar yourself, or does the pattern’s turned-up collar fold down into the lovely collar that your coat has?

Thank you! The collar is the pattern’s asymmetrical stand-up collar turned down and tacked in the back. I didn’t make any adjustments to the symmetry of the pattern because I didn’t know how I was going to wear the collar until after I had cut and sewn it. I would adjust it in retrospect though. It looks nearly symmetrical anyhow. :)
