I was leafing through my new copy of Russh magazine and there was an ad with this incredible military style jersey knit cardigan that I was drooling over. So, I tried my best to come up with my own version. Theirs had a double row of gold buttons, but I sort of ran out of my supply, so I did three buttons down the front and opted for cool military style flaps on the shoulders.
I could really improve on this. I don’t normally work with fabrics like jersey, so my work is mildly off from what it normally is. And, I made the cardigan much too short for my liking. I drafted a longer pattern for this but I had some unfortunate episodes with a hot iron that ended up burning the fabric. Yikes! Really, this project was more nightmare than success.
So, this is prototype 1. I’m thinking of just making a grey wool coat version instead. I don’t really wear cardigans anyways. : P
