An evening gown for my niece’s grade 10 leavers dinner. This project was challenging as we could find no pattern or dress exaclty the same that we could work from or copy. It was very trial and error but all parties were happy with the end result. Marriettelooked beautiful and had a great night out. She even got her picture in the local newspaper!
Stretch sequinned tulle, satin back crepe, lining, crystal organza, invisible zip in the side

Thanks, making your own dress will be so rewarding. It is the best way to get exactly what you want and a dress that fits so much better than something off the rack. Do try on a bunch of different styles to get a clear picture of what you want and make a practice one. I also found it helpful to buy a little extra of the special fabric to do some practice seams and tested how the material ‘behaved’. Have fun!

Thanks, It was stressful sewing something for such a special occasion as I didn’t want to dissapoint her. I was so relieved that she was happy and that she had a great night out.
