For this racer-back tank dress, I traced the pattern from a top that I had. I learned how to finish the seams with an all-one facing which was very confusing at first but fortunately my old high school classmate Lourdes came to visit and helped me figure it all out. This also has not one, but two, in seam pockets. They are so easy to add now that I know how. Burdastyle is such a great resource for sewers of all skill levels. I want to make another one with a curved hem that I see is so in style these days like the one from Jenny of Wiksten-made and the gorgeous hemline of hound’s Fayne Tunic.

The tank looks awesome, love that fabric! I’m never that lucky when I go to the fabric store.

Lucky is not exactly how I describe it. I think I overdosed on fabric early on in my burdastyle life. I was over optimistic. Looking at my fabric stash stresses me out sometimes. :)

Thanks, Sewella. How have you been? I just saw another one of your creations modeled by your daughter in the Photo Album Page. She is going to be a fierce model should she decided to go on that route. Love it.

They are the rage. And for good reason, save for having to have special undergarments so that straps aren’t showing, they really are super comfy too…
