I just finished making this dress from our Tank Dress with Gathered Skirt pattern, and I could not like it enough! I was skeptical about the silhouette on my body at first, but the panels in a vertical stripe that I added really make this style flattering. I am a huge fan of maxi-dresses for the spring and summer, because they are long and flowy and I don’t have to worry about putting sunscreen on my legs.
I kept the casual look to this dress and styled it to be sort of hippie-grunge like the pattern originally suggests. The best part about this dress for me is that I only used leftover and scrap fabrics from previous projects! So I put three random fabrics together and they turned out to be flattering in a contrasting way. This project is my March Mash Up pattern, so be sure to check out that post to see how I added the panels and ultimately how I sewed this dress all together!
