Maroon Skirt

Added Sep 7, 2008

by anandapanda

Cave Junction, O...

I made this skirt last fall and never wore it because the zipper caught in the fabric. I switched the closure to buttons and added an inner ribbon waistband to finish and stabilize waist. The flower detail stabilizes the end of the waistband as I miscalculated on the length.

Material Notes

White and maroon cotton from my mum’s fabric shelf. Cotton/polyester lace, ribbon and plastic buttons from the thrift store.

Daniel for the pictures.

Diane for the fabric.

Myself for the pattern copied from an existing skirt.

Cool closure! I might steal this idea!

That’s very clever. I would never have thought of using buttons like that. Very cool.

Very beautiful skirt. It looks like you could just go skip in the meadows in it. I love skirts like that :D
