So here’s my entry to the competition. Phew! I thought I couldn’t make in time…
Inspired by the 50s, from an actual dress from this era : a white embroided cotton dress my grandma gave me a month ago (see my inspiration picture). I had to unmake it in order to get the pattern right, which is a crime against fashion… But I will sew it back, I swear!
So it is basically the same, except for the darts I changed into princess seams, and I made it longer. It will be my prom dress. I also added a belt with a flower, inspired from this project
I made an organza stole that is wrapped around the bust, but the pictures really don’t advantage it. Too much light with the flash.
I really like that era, because it makes such a feminine figure, I absolutely LOVE the “Corolle” collection from Dior, the “flower-woman”… And I think it suits my body type quite well.
Thanks to my friend Flo, I have so many beautiful pictures it’s hard to choose which ones to publish… That’s why there are so many!
Organza, blend of satin, stretch polyester… ?
