After obsessing about Marimekko’s beautiful tunic dresses I was delighted to find this very similar poppy print.
Confession time – it is quilting cotton but I swear it is so soft and comfortable you wouldn’t know :)
The pattern used was originally designed for lace but you really don’t need to change anything to make it work on regular fabric. In fact this is such a simple design that constructing the dress only took about a thrid of the time grading and altering the pattern for fit did as I needed to grade up to a size 50 and add a full bust adjustment.
I love that this would look so different depending on your fabric choice so it will definitely be used again.
Quilting cotton, approximately 2.2 meters of 110cm wide fabric.
