Description
I received a gift certificate to Marimekko for my birthday so I picked out the fabric first and then the pattern. I really like how well the simplicity of the pattern works with the fabric. I did make one small change, however. The pattern called for two armhole cuffs to be sewn around the armholes but they didn’t work well with the rest of the dress so I just sewed the armholes without them.

As a fledgling designer myself, I absolutely love the details you have put into this dress. It looks so professional! Would love for my work to look that professional!

With the fabric you chose the dress looks much more interesting to me. No I am considering to sew this dress too, but as cuada complained, with a lower neckline… Grate job, love it on you!

It looks great- i’ve made this dress also -do you find it comfortable to wear? The front neckline on mine rides up after a short while wearing it.

Maybe the waist tie on yours is too low down so when you tie it on your waist it hitches up the whole bodice??

It doesn’t bother me too much but I do have to adjust it every so often. Although I think it’s actually comfier when I wear the waste higher (like with the belt).

I don’t think so fifilna- I usually wear mine with a belt to stop it moving too- but I think the movement is because of it not having a proper arm hole-that as my arms move it pushes the the dress up against my neck! I’ll have to make another version! This version is gorgeous, and makes me want to try it again:)
