Description

I made a Marie skirt. pattern by Burda. I needed something flattering for my protruding tummy and smart to wear to the office. This pattern seems to have it all!

I made it in size 42, however, if you have an hourglass figure like me and want to wear it on your waist and not the hips, I need to make it in a smaller size.

The instructions for the interfacing was ridiculous. I left it out. Also, I’d like to sew a bigger waistband next time. Overall, a great project to start with!

Thank you, though I’m afraid that’s the filter, the fabric is a deep black. Bought on the market: 10 euros for 6,70meter. But you are right, muslin would have been better! Actually, I’ve learnt a lot from this project.

according the the measurements I’m a 42 as well but I always go down to either a 38 or 40. try a smaller size but I’d do a muslin first so if it doesn’t work out you’re not heartbroken over your beautiful fabric! I love the plum color of this!
