This is my first attempt at a Marie skirt. I used an old sheet that I stiffened with some fairly heavy interfacing so that it would better take the tulip shape. It may have been a bit too stiff around the butt so I ended up stitching down the pleats a little to take out some of the poof! Wore it to work today for causal Friday and got some nice comments!

Thanks so much. The skirt is currently in my pile of ironing, so you gave me motivation to dig it out and buckle down to do some overdue ironing! hate ironing!

i was looking through all the completed projects for this skirt and liked yours the best. I was surprised to see you made it from a sheet! (especially since I thought the fabric choice was part of what made it so great!) Anyway, good job:)
