Description

A 30th-birthday present for my former coworker. This is from the Margaret bag from oh fransson tutorial (see below for link). The shape is a compromise of the hobo shape that she likes (I think) and the interfacing gives it a little structure, which I like.

Didn’t want to buy new fabrics – I have too much and needed to start using them! Besides, already blew the sewing budget in January.

Gray is just a little something of “me”. I like muted colors. I bought 5 yards of the damn thing.

She likes orange, so lucky that I have some from previous fabric-buying frenzy. Am not too wild about the brightness of the orange, but it’s kind of nice against the gray.

I think I’ll make one for myself.

Material Notes

Gray wool suiting from ebay for the outside. Orange cotton lining. Interfacing. Mother of pearl button from an old vintage jacket (didn't like the jacket, kept the button).

tutorial from oh fransson. I added pockets on the outside for added interest.

It’s very nice. I like the shape and color contrast. Nice job!!
