It would have stayed in mine too last year, but having to post something on a Monday and hating to fail is a win win!

The fabric is gorgeous, I have another three yards that is waiting to be a dress when I find the right pattern…

Your blouse is beautiful and it looks wonderful on you. But I totally agree with you regarding a Marfy pattern. Just this past weekend, I made up a beautiful little top, Marfy 2465. I couldn’t get my size in this pattern, so I decided to make a muslin and just add width at the sides. The front neckline pleats were a struggle and I fiddled and fiddled until I was happy. Then when I tried it on, it was absolutely perfect. With no instructions, I could never recommend these patterns to someone who has little sewing experience but if you have , they are beautiful and the fit is lovely. I am sure that there are online videos to help with the construction of certain sewing methods, but instructions with a pattern would be ideal. I too won’t be buying another Marfy unless it is totally irresistible.

You have just made one of my favorite tops, its on my list for this year. I can’t believe you altered a Marfy, I am so impressed. They are notoriously hard. I agree that you need experience, and some solid construction skills. I found a really useful book last year called the Pattern Making Primer by Jo Barnfield and Andrew Richards. So useful when attempting a Marfy.
