I love Summer Sewing: This was dress was made on impulse, as soon as I saw this mardi gras masquerade fabric print, I knew I had to get cutting and make a dress, I felt a column empire style would be suitable to show of the print. The sewing pattern I used for inspiration was a nightdress Style pattern from 1979, I adapted the pattern to have an empire line style by moving the waist line, I used elasticized cream lace for the elastic casing on the outside of the fabric as a design detail.
